The Architectural Committee review shall only be applicable to the DOD Downtown Okauchee Zoning District of the Waukesha County Shoreland and Floodland Protection Ordinance.
The purpose of the Architectural Committee is to provide assistance in reviewing and recommending on building and structure changes to ensure that the community’s property values are preserved and to maintain uniformity throughout the Downtown Okauchee Area. The Architectural Committee shall review the design and appearance of buildings and structures to ensure the exterior of the buildings and structures maintain high standards of architectural quality within the Downtown Okauchee Area. The Architectural Committee shall protect properties from impairment or destruction of value.
The Architectural Committee shall have the right to review and make recommendations to approve, deny, or approve with changes all plans and specifications for any building or structure to be constructed, modified, improved, replaced or altered. The Architectural Committee shall review new buildings as well as exterior changes to existing buildings, including additions, window or door changes, auxiliary structures, roofs, awnings, siding, and decks/patios.
The Architectural Committee is a review and recommending body only and has no authority to approve or deny a particular request. The Village Plan Commission and/or Village Board shall consider the recommendations of the Architectural Committee and may place conditions on any approvals for compliance with one, two or all the recommendations presented by the Architectural Committee.
